Self-portraits comparison.
In the first photograph i can see a wide range of reflections weather that that is of Lee Friedlander himself, or the person that looks patiently next to the car, to the shop window to the right of the picture but in Lee's world it would have been to the left side of him.
The second picture is the most frightening picture out of all of the images as it has a very dark setting but very simple in ways. The 'thing' sitting behind the board could be anything symbolising a monster or a certain emotion Francesa Woodman was felling at the time.
Finally, the third picture shows a high level of technique towards how he has used a simple piece of card with a cut out to create a simple view point or even an illusion in someones case to make it look like the mans hand that is poking out of the right front side window, is separated from the rest of his body.
Lee Friedlander and Francesa Woodman's pictures are similar in regards to framing and having frames within frames. In these two specific images i find the framing not that different, the colour of the framing in both pictures appear to have variations of white in both of them which is another similarity.
